The offices for AXIS Employment Bendigo were designed around an existing building that had fallen into disrepair. Creating a comfortable and inviting space were paramount to the success of the project. The existing basement was found to leak from both the walls and the slab, and during construction a methodology was created that allowed the replacement of the slab, and installation of a new lift, without extensive demolition to the existing first floor suspended slab. Keeping the existing building envelope in place, the façade was rectified and modernized, with the internals brought up to modern fire segregation standards and DDA access requirements.
