Conceived as a sanctuary, St Aidans Residence uses a generous site to choreograph a calm journey from street to heart. Entry is through a solid stone wall, with the main house set back to conceal a discreet garage and undercover guest parking. A sequence of rooms and gardens, some open to sky and others glazed, steps up in privacy before arriving at a central courtyard with a glass-sided pool.
BLR Provincial Construction delivered the build with high-end finishes and careful craftsmanship. Hand-laid stone walls run inside and out with matched coursing and tight returns. Glulam beams span the living pavilion, their expressed junctions setting a clear rhythm for the plan. A timber feature ceiling continues that rhythm, its precise set-out aligning with glazing and joinery to keep lines clean and the structure legible.
Services are concealed, thresholds are flush, and drainage is integrated so the material palette stays uninterrupted. At the centre, an open plan living, dining and kitchen space looks to the courtyard, garden, covered outdoor area and pool. Stone and timber flow seamlessly from outside to in, strengthening the relationship between landscape and interior.
The result is a light-filled, finely made home that balances privacy and openness, with details that will age well.
