About us

BLR Provincial Construction has been operating since 2008. The company directors Dan Bahen, Michael Long and Jonathan Redfearn are all experienced builders and renovators holding high integrity through their well designed, carefully managed, skillful work.

These attributes are important to the company and are embraced by all foreman, contractors and apprentices.

Daniel Bahen
Director

Daniel completed his building apprenticeship with Bendigo based company, O’Brien’s Contracting. O’Brien’s sourced a majority of their work in Melbourne. Daniel gained experience and knowledge from construction sites such as the Dame Philip Frost Centre and Deer Park & Barwon Prisons.

Daniel also learnt more intricate carpentry and building skills on various top end renovations and extensions in Toorak, Port Melbourne and Templestowe.

While completing his apprenticeship Daniel was nominated for Master Builders 1st Year and 2nd Year Apprentice of the Year and BRIT Tafe Apprentice of the Year, which in all four nominations he won.

Daniel has a strong business mind which enables him to manage staff, talk with clients and delegate jobs with Michael and Jonathan.

Michael Long
Director

Michael completed his apprenticeship with the then Bendigo based company Morey and Hurford (now Fair Brother).

Early in his fourth year of his apprenticeship, Michael became a foreman on the Bendigo Art Gallery job site and leading hand on the extension at Assumption College, Kilmore.

Since BLR has been in operation Michael has been based in Bendigo running big and small building and renovation projects such as the new Bethlehem Nursing Home extension, being foreman for the carpentry contract through Walton’s Construction.

Michael has also most recently managed the renovation and the restoration of the new Pondalowie Cellar and Store in Bendigo’s fashionable View Street.

Jonathan Redfearn
Director

Jonathan completed his apprenticeship in Bendigo working for a small builder mostly on renovations and new homes anywhere from northern Victoria and down to Melbourne. He gained experience running jobs at an early stage of my apprenticeship which gave me leadership and supervisory skills which has helped him along the way.

After completing his apprenticeship Jonathan set off to QLD learning a different code of building from Cairns to the Gold Coast working on various sites including high rises, shopping centres, retirement villages and top end housing then settling in Mackay where he was Project Manager for five years and acquired his QLD builders licence.
